Redmond 11,
Eastlake 3
The first postseason game was a rough outing for
Eastlake as they fell to the Redmond Mustangs on a cold night at
the Woodinville H.S. field. The game was overshadowed by the
collision of Mike Adams and Kyle Walther in center field, which
sent both to the hospital with concussions. Both Mike and Kyle are
now at home and feeling better. Sophomore Robert Gibson, fresh up
from J.V. where he has done very well this year, was the starting
pitcher for Eastlake. Robert went 3 innings, followed by Nick
Whitworth and Devon Haskell. Brett Upchurch, Joel Newberry and
Ryan Focht batted well, each with a double and single. Anthony
Berhold drove in a run.
Eastlake enters the first round of the Kingco playoffs Tuesday,
taking on Lake Washington on the Bothell H.S. field at 6:30 p.m.
