Eastlake 8, Lake Washington 6
A must win game with an incredible finish…it just
keeps getting better. Eastlake advances to its next Kingco
Conference playoff challenge with a victory over Lake Washington
today. Ian Farmer racked up 149 pitches and went the distance with
5 strikeouts and 4 walks to bring it to the Kangs. Ben Campbell
was 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and scored 3 runs. Joel
Newberry was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Adam Hicks hit a double and had
an unassisted 6 and 6-3 double play. Brett Upchurch made a great
diving catch in right field. In the top of the 7th inning, with 2
outs and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ian threw a wild pitch; catcher
Nick Whitworth retrieved the ball and passed it to Ian who made
the final out by tagging the runner attempting to score from
third. The quick-thinking play ended the game and Lake
Washington’s season.
Eastlake takes on Redmond on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Inglemoor
High School.
