Eastlake 8, Lake Washington 7
A grand finale, the last game of the regular
season, and by far the most memorable of the year. A game that
started as if it would end early went on for 9 innings with a
dramatic finish and plenty of player highlights. Wolf fans watched
as a 5 run Eastlake lead evaporated to a 7th inning tie before
Nick Whitworth drove in Joel Newberry to score the winning run.
Brandon Eggers pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up 8 hits, 1 walk, 5
runs and took 2 strikeouts. Ryan Focht, who also had a home run in
todays game, was the winning pitcher, chalking up 2 strikeouts
while giving up 2 runs, 5 hits and 1 walk. Mike Adams was todays
heavy hitter, with a home run, a triple and 3 RBIs.
The Wolves now head for the postseason with a tiebreaker playoff
likely this weekend.
