Tim Pickard pitched
a complete game gem on three days rest and the whole team played
great to beat Redmond and make another trip to the state
tournament. Tim had 5 strikeouts and gave up only 1 walk.
Eastlake's hitters
had 9 hits and 7 walks. Bryan Yates and L. P. Angelo were both 2-4
with an RBI. Sean Teague had a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.
Adrian Flint had a huge solo pinch-hit home run. Marcus Ungaro
scored 2 runs - stealing home in the first inning as a courtesy
runner for Tim Ahern and scoring the go-ahead run in the 7th
inning as a pinch runner for Bryan Yates. Ben Campbell had a hit,
a walk and a run. Anthony Berhold and Danny Ballance each had a
hit and a walk. Tim Ahern had 2 walks and a steal. Ted Hickey
walked. Sean Rockey had a sacrifice bunt.
